Landmark decision on children’s rights

The Constitutional Court of South Africa has ruled that the common law defense of reasonable & moderate parental chastisement of children is unconstitutional.

It’s a unanimous judgment and the court is of the view that there are effective ways to discipline children without the use of corporal punishment
